Amelia's has been in the high 70s and low 80s on her oxygen requirement so they are not going to wean her to CPAP 6 today. They are ordering up a chest x-ray to see if she has extra fluid on her lungs. If so, she will get more lasix today to help dry her out. Her nurse says she is not struggling to breathe, but she just isn't satting really high either. Hopefully she will get it together by tomorrow and we can return to the weaning program.
UPDATE: Todd is visiting with Amelia and says she is on 62% oxygen on her own without lasix or any additional inhalers or steroid treatments. The x-ray did not reveal fluid in her lungs. Somehow she pulled herself by her bootstraps and is satting better with less oxygen. If she keeps this up tomorrow she should be weaned.
