Ain't Nothin' Like the Real Thing, Baby

Unfortunately my milk ran out today and they will have to feed Amelia formula for the next 24 hours. They make up the milk in 24 hour batches fortified with extra calories and potassium, so as soon as I can accumulate enough for a 24 hour feeding, they will switch back to breast milk.

After Amelia's poor blood gas this morning, they retook it at 11:00 and her CO2 came down to 75, which still isn't grrrrrrrrr-eat so they decided to take her pressure back to 25. They decided to let her stay at her previous setting until she gets her next blood gas at 8:00 am on Saturday. If it is good then they will make a decision at rounds where to go next.

I got to hold her for a couple hours today. She sat'ed really well and slept the entire time.

A friend of Todd's from his HITS theatre days (Houston children's musical theatre group)emailed today that she is starting a mommy and me group with singing and playing. I am already looking forward to being able to take Amelia to these...hope Erin can keep a spot open for us in about 6 months when she is home and we are ready to put our karaoke skills to use. Will Amelia be an soprano or an alto like mommy?
