Todd never went to bed last night. He is being fueled by a powerful combination of good news and Musinex! He left to go to work at 6:30 am. I have never seen my husband's eyes open at this hour unless golf was involved.
We have excellent news to report. Since getting her blood pressure into an acceptable range, things seem to be clicking into place. Her CO2 is still way down, she lost 6 oz. of fluid last night (170 grams) due to her increased urine output! They have reduced her pressure settings from 36 to 34 and they are weaning her down to 45 breaths per minute. They continue to keep her oxygen saturation levels in the 70% range.
We just hope they aren't pushing her too far, too fast. But we are very happy that she has had made some steps forward. I am curious to know her length. They were supposed to measure that last night too.

What wonderful, hopeful news. Perhaps Amelia has finally "turned the corner" as you hoped. Many prayers are coming your way. Marie Grip
I knew it would just be a matter of time before Amelia would gain her strength after her heart surgery. She had so very much going on at one time; some of what she is going through just has to do with her physical immaturity. Every day she grows a little stronger, her lungs mature a little more and she responds a little better to techniques, drugs and machines. We will continue to watch her forward progress and hold vigils for her complete recovery. Many, many thanks to all who keep Amelia, Christina and Todd in their prayers. Love Grammy
