Bedtime Stories

Tonight's reading selection was a Golden Book called Bedtime Stories. Bedtime Nightmares more like. Good thing she has no idea what daddy is saying to her. It was Chicken Little, Little Red Riding Hood and The Gingerbread Man -- someone gets eaten in every one.

Amelia's urine output has diminished and they aren't sure why. One cause could be an infection. The have taken an ultrasound of her kidneys and are going to test her blood to see if they can find anything wrong. The kidney ultrasound results could be delayed as long as Monday due to the holidays. They are giving her dopamine which will increase her urine output until they can isolate the problem. She is also back to her blue light for her jaundice, so she has the goggles again. They think maybe she isn't shaking the jaundice because of the possible infection. If they do find an infection, they will give her some antibiotics for it. Hopefully it will be as simple as that.

Todd and I went out to dinner in Rice Village tonight. We also went to the Half Price book store and found a copy of The Essential Guide for Parents of Premature Babies. I have a copy checked out from the local library, but it is such an invaluable guide book, we decided to purchase a copy. The baby's neonatologist saw had it and said it was the best book for parents wanting to understand what is happening to their baby.

We brought Amelia an Easter basket. She doesn't have teeth, so nothing edible. We got her a baby doll, a stuffed rabbit, one of those rubber duckies that tells you if the bath water is too hot and a little snail rattle thingee that will clip on to her car carrier. These are our first baby toy purchases. It was pretty fun going into Target with Todd to shop for her!
