Amelia is doing well today. They did wean her pressure to 2&1/2 Saturday, and she's still hanging out on that with an FI02 of between 45 and 55% so not bad at all. She got some play in and some pacifier practice, though Xina and I have only been able to get a few good sucks out of her in the midst of a while lotta gummin. But we'll keep on it. We do have time, after talking to the on call doctor today (who's overseen Amelia before) and the NNP in charge of her. The opthamologist's diagnosis of her eyes was a little confusing to them, also, since the Optha... didn't really talk to anyone about it in detail. Xina did some research on it, and she can fill in more details of what her possibilities are based on that diagnosis. We'll know more in a couple of days anyway after her test.
Xina's eldest sibling was chomping at the bit to come visit this weekend to lend some needed support, but Xina delayed her for a week; so she'll visit next weekend (hopefully). Gma caught a quick flight and came in town on Saturday to tide us over. Xina's spirits are already up and I got a brunch for the first time in months. We're thankful to have such a family that will help us out at the drop of a hat. My 'rents came by to see Amelia yesterday after Mom had to stay away for a week with the sniffles. Pop comes by about every other day, but Mom took some time to get over her cold. The NICU - hospital in general, actually - is cracking down during flu season. Soon they won't allow anyone with any sign of the sniffles back to see the babies... thankfully I'm on about 5 meds to get me over my yearly clogging. That's actually more than Amelia right now - yeah Amelia.
Oh, Amelia apparently needs some lessons from Emily Post. Nurse Jacqui told me she passes gas in a very unladylike manner (in fact, at one point yesterday she had the whole pod wondering who could ever have created such a fierce noise), and her sneezes are as loud as mine - and like her old man, she sneezes multiple times in a row. As least we know I passed on some genes in both cases.
Xina just got home. Amelia is 10lb 15ozs and 22 & 1/2 inches.

Youll have to come up with a cute-yet-embarrassing name to call her...we call Addie "Pooter". Im sure shell LOVE that when she gets older. Hang on Amelia, youre doing great!
Catherine, you were "putter" when you were little...so I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Addie? What about Falcon? That kid sounds like he has the squirts 24/7/365
