Amelia has had a good weekend. Her CPAP pressure is still at 6, but as I held her today, her FIO2 was all the way down to 31%. It went up as she began her feed (as as Xina took over the hold) but she's been well below 50% all weekend... so yea!
She is still hovering at 9lbs 2ozs, as she's been on 3 diuretics all weekend and has only gained 20grams a night. She grew a centimeter since last week, which is good, since they have been minor-ly worried about her length.
Tomorrow she'll have a renal scan to make sure her kidneys looks alright - the minor fluid retainment incident during the week spurred them to check again... no one thinks they'll find anything wrong, it's simply a precaution. Also, tomorrow, the doctor is going to take her in for her MRI. So barring a bunch of emergencies, she'll get that done, and we should have news from that in 3-5 days.
She's doing better about tolerating sitting up with our help, and she loves looking at anyone, everyone and everything. Xina and I try to massage and move her limbs as much as possible to get her going. She likes it.... she's a pretty tolerate child, considering....
The pod is really busy right now with full capacity - they have 2 units shut down for upgrades - and there are more babies crying than normal. We can tell it sort of bugs Amelia, as she still doesn't like loud noises - which may be why her cries are so quiet. I've been hitting her with heavy doses of Buddy Holly and Styx, and I think her favorite song of her first few months is Boat on the River, from Cornerstone by Styx - thank you Tommy Shaw.... She stares at me, listening, and then it puts her to sleep almost every time.... oh wait... that may mean that she doesn't like and is trying to shut me out...

Thanks Todd for the latest peek into the pod. Sounds like you're making it as pleasant for her as possible! Glad she's doing well and enjoying the PT.
