Closer to Fine

Amelia's oxygen crept up a little bit today. She was up to 55%, but by the time I left she was back down to 40%. Her doctors had taken her off of two of her diuretics after the surgery to see if she had outgrown them. They also switched her back to her feeding schedule of being fed every four hours, which means she gets more volume at a time. At this point they want to do nothing that will jeopardize her speedy exit out of the NICU so she will go back on the diuretics and if that doesn't help, then they will switch her feeds back to every three hours.

Tomorrow they will start to wean her liter flow as long as she keeps her oxygen under 60%. We have a new doctor for the next two weeks. He is the one that was her doctor when she transitioned from vent to CPAP. I am hoping she can get down to 2 LPM very quickly.

We will start doing some feeds tomorrow too. I bought her some spoons just in case they decided to try them out and it looks like they will. They are also saying it is OK to start her on some rice cereal! Very exciting stuff.

The pieces are starting to fall into place.
