Sitting By the Dock of the Bay

After Church on Sunday we met over at my parent's for brunch. Tomato tart, quiche, brown sugar and nut encrusted thick sliced bacon, melon and prosciutto, potatoes o'brien and thick sliced french toast. Good grief! The weather was beautiful so we sat outside on the carport to to dine al fresco.

Todd and I loaded up Amelia to go visit the sisters at the Convent of Mercy. The nuns there have been praying for her and following our blog since she was born. Aunt Tooty met us at the end of the driveway and showed us where to park and enter the building. Amelia was pleased to meet them all. We saw some old friends like Miss Street, Sr. Zoe, and Sr. Robert and met some new ones too -- like the Carmelite sisters and Sr. Aidan! Sr. Aidan is 102 years old and Amelia seemed to be particularly enamored with her. She kept gripping Sr. Aidan's finger and wouldn't let go. We had such a nice time we didn't want to go.

Later that evening we went out on the causeway to have dinner at Ed's Seafood Shack. It was the Lormand/Bankers/Cannon anniversary celebration. We were married on August 21st, Marian and Ben were married on Sept 4th and my parents were married September 2nd. There was live music, good food and family all together. We sat outside and had a great view of the sun coming down on Mobile Bay. What could be better than that?

Aunt Sarah made her this cute sock monkey. She loves it!
