Amelia had her wagon ride and she did great. Daddy came up from work to be part of the fun. She had her nurse, an RT, her music therapist, her mommy and daddy to help keep her company while we paraded around the NICU. We had tons of people pop out of the pods to come and see her and cheer her on. She was liking the attention a lot. She was smiling and I swear she was waving to people. I am beginning to think theatre is in her future. Being a NICU parent is probably good practice for being a stage parent. Not much of a leap I would imagine! One cool thing was that we saw another NICU couple we had met that had never met Amelia before, so they were able to see her for the first time.
We were going to have her carry her CPT paddle as her scepter, but on Todd's way in he ran into the Deatons who were in the area for their son's doctor's appointment. As you may recall, their son Nathan is going to be Amelia's boyfriend when they grow up. He had a Valentine's gift for Amelia. It is the pretty flower you see her holding -- I thought it would work as a scepter. She loves her gift a lot. Smooches to Nathan!
While we were out about town, we ran into doctor Khan and he was impressed with how well she was handling the ride. She was satting 100% while they had her on the cannister of oxygen that was 100%. So he decided to go ahead and put Amelia to 100% oxygen at 1 liter when she got back to the pod!!!! She is now at 1 liter and 100% fiO2 and she is satting 100%! I am on an adrenaline high right now. 1 liter is an acceptable liter flow to go home. This is a record low for her. We are so excited. Maybe now I can start believing she will be home soon.

Clearly the taste of freedom made her realize the end is near....so she showed you guys what she could do with those oxygen levels! Kisses from Mobile to you Amelia!
Yay Amelia! Look how happy you are. Home is just around the corner! -rlc
Well I think that little flower from her future boyfriend just did the trick for getting her O2 in the right order !! Who would have thought that a little Valentine love was all she needed... : ) What a wonderful day for Baby Amelia !

Ahh. . .a taste of freedom!! Her homecoming is soon to follow! Nathan is so impressed by her lpms! Keep up the good work!
Amelia looks so cute. We are excited to have her as a member of our family! :) Erika Tinnin(Nathan's Favorite Aunt)
Seems she had a blast, next thing she needs is a night out with the girls (mom, aunts, friends and grandma's). So glad she is improving.
I am so happy for you guys! Keep it up sweet Amelia!
