We flagged down the eye doctor to look at Amelia's eyes. We tried to get her to open her eyes but she wouldn't wake up to let the doctor examine her. I got the idea to show her pictures of Amelia from the blog and so based on that she wrote an order for us to patch her eye for two hours every day. They don't have any eye patches here at the hospital, just eye shaped gauze that we have taped to her face. She promptly fell asleep so I guess she will have her eye focus time after she's gotten some rest.
I ordered some from a place online that our night nurse recommended. So she will be wearing patches with hearts, princesses and plain pink --- I thought they matched her outfits the best and of course reflect her personality best.
Her liter flow is still 2. We were supposed to wean today but sometime this morning she had a hard time keeping up her sats and they had her turned up all the way to 100%. They gave her a couple of albuterol treatments and now she is down to 60%. Also she has been put on another breathing medication called flovent. The RT instructed me on how to use it today. This is something she may have to go home on.

Dear C & T,
Did you ask the doctor why she isn't keeping "Amelia Hours"? She could have gotten what she needed if she had conformed to her newly devised schedule. Someone get the Dr. a clue....4AM is the new wake/play time. The "Pod Princess" needs to get out her scepter and begin to get those DR's in line, for pity sakes. Grammy is banking on her getting them in line. Love MOM/Grammy
