Amelia has been doing fine this week. No changes over the weekend or today on her treatments. She's been satting very well on her belly and side, but no so hot on her back. Since she's very "positional", the doctors are assuming it's the malasia (tracheomalacia - floppy air way) that's the root cause of her un-weanableness. Mixed with the reflux, it's still causing some issues. He CO2 level was really high yesterday when they did her blood test, and she looks like she's retaining some water, but we're not sure what that means. She slept alot over the weekend, more than usual, so we had little interaction with her. Xina did feed her some applesauce baby food, and AE was licking it off her tongue, she liked it so much. Much better that the carrots, green beans and fourmula. She still pooped out wnd got tired, so she didn't eat a lot... nevertheless, it was nice to see her sweet tooth really get her to like eating.
There are no current plans to change her treatment, merely wait for a couple more days and see if her lack of reflux helps get rid of the inflammation of her airway.
Today was my birthday, so I took a half day off of work, got to the hospital early, had dinner with the 'rents, then back to the hospital til around 2:30am. It was a lot of nice time with her. She woke up for a bit, then fell asleep, then woke then fell asleep, then woke up.... but it was all fun. she's a neat little girl.
She's up to 14lbs 9ozs tonight - though I think about 3 ozs of that is water retention - and 24" long.
