New Deal

They decided to skip the blood gas and will extubate without one. They need to wean her off her sedatives now. She was on two, but is now down to a half dose on the other. When she wakes up they will turn it off completely and then they will extubate. Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later. She is sleeping right now. She had a burst of wakefulness about half an hour ago and she played with her ball and rattle.

They changed her antibiotic to something that is more effective against the particular bacteria she has. It is able to go through her g-tube (the other went through a vein) so maybe we could come home and do the meds ourselves. However, I don't mind being in the hospital for the course of the antibotics as long as she is on nasal cannula -- anything is bearable.
