Farm Living is the Life for Me

This past weekend we went to Fredericksburg and spent Labor day weekend with the Banker family!

We got to spend time with her aunt, uncle and cousins whom she does not get to see very often. She sat on Aunt Joelle's lap and was mesmerized by her cousin Ava.

Ava played with her the entire weekend and was a great babysitter along with her cousins Mackenzie, Carleen and Carter. They even climbed in and played tea party with her while I had her corralled in a doggie pen. She was getting into everything and I needed a break!

Grandad made yummy pancakes for breakfast!

She took some rides on the mule (this 4 wheel drive vehicle is like a golf cart on steroids). She wasn't sure about it at first. The first time she didn't like the noise and did not even want to sit on my lap. She would only allow me to hold her standing up on the seat for some reason. By the second ride she was OK with it and by the third time, I think she enjoyed herself. We took it out to go check on the neighbors down the way and up the hill.

Todd got her a new pink swing to swing on while we are up in the country! We dodged quite a few cow pies on the way, but she walked all the way from the house to the swing...and loved every minute of it. I wish we could find her some boots that will fit over her AFOs. There are a lot of burrs in the grass and it would be good to protect her legs...and they would look cute, too of course.

She fit in some piano practice time. She is quite the little piano virtuoso!

All loaded up to go home. All good things must come to an end.

She fell asleep no sooner had we pulled out of the driveway.

As soon as I saw her I wondered who corralled her in the dog yard. Whatever works. She has come a long way with the music.....I remember when Uncle cousin neighbor Billy and Aunt Sylvia were married--how she HOWLED in pain when the organist played. My how things are improving. Glad you had a cousin filled weekend!

Well...we went to church with Marian the weekend before last and the organ sent her over the edge. Piano doesn't seem to affect her, the organ on the other hand sends her into a slow motion cry. It starts with a wide eyed stunned look, followed by a crumpled face, followed by a mouth wide open silent cry, a slight purple tinge to her face, a single tear welling up in her eye, a deep breath, a loud painful cry, eyes squeezed shut, and a tear sliding down her cheek. This takes about 3 minutes to go through the entire process. It is as pitiful as it sounds.

I have witnesses that for myself. And it is indeed, pitiful. Makes my heart ache to know that it is painful for her. Need to take earplugs to church with you especially at your church.....Mercy that woman's playing at the end of mass runs to the macabre.
