Endless Loop

Amelia enjoys practicing her walking skills. Today I took pictures and some video so you can see what it is that she does during the day while we are home. Typically she will stand in front of the TV by either holding on to the TV stand or leaning against the arm of the couch. Then she decides she's had enough of that so she'll go along the back of the couch and maybe play with a toy.

She cruises along the back of the couch and stops by the end table. She likes cups a lot and if I forget and leave my cup there she will make a grab for it. Usually I beat her to the punch and she laughs at me and walks on to her next adventure. She walks to the arm of the the love seat and will walk over to the ottoman.

She likes to help me with the piles of folded laundry by throwing them on the floor. Mission accomplished, she walks all the way to the front door and smacks on the glass and admires her reflection. Now depending on the opportunity, she may decide that it might be fun to climb up the stairs. If I remembered to put the gate up, she will try to get in my office, and if I remembered to close the door, she will head over to the dining room.

The dining room is appealing because it has shutters on it and she enjoys opening and closing them. Bored with that, she goes around the dining room table out to the foyer and to the china cabinet. She uses the handles to pull herself up.

She likes to play with the handles for a little bit before making her way toward the Master bedroom. She passes the hallway bathroom and hopes the door is open.

She likes to play in the toilet and rip pages out of the magazines I keep in there for reading material. If the door is closed or toilet lid closed, she will try to get into our bedroom. Once in the bedroom she likes to go to the master bathroom. There is also a fun toilet and magazine in there. Also she likes to walk grabbing the side of the bathtub. Sometimes there are shampoo bottles and bubble bath she can grab and throw on the floor.

Once she has tossed all of the items on the floor, she likes to go in my closet because it has a full length mirror and a low hanging clothes bar with empty hangers dangling from it. She talks to the little girl in the mirror, throws her hands in the air, smiles, claps her hands and while leaning against the mirror with her left hand, begins to remove and toss all the hangers with her right hand.

I shoo her out of there and bring her to the family room to play a game. She quickly crawls away from me, and immediately pulls herself to a stand in front of the TV....and the whole thing starts all over again. Sometimes there is a kitchen detour to play in the dog food and water bowl and test which cabinets aren't locked. Three loops and then it is nap time. For her and me!
