Woo Hoo, Amelia's 2!

Amelia had a birthday party on Saturday. She is two years old and we could not be more proud of her. She had a good turn out for her party and got see many friends and family. She was having a blast playing with the other kids. She got up in her walker and ran to to the door to meet her guests, she played with the balloons and in general showed off all her new skills. We took off her cannula, sat her up in her high chair, lit her cupcake candle and sang her happy birthday. She did not seem to mind the attention whatsoever, however, she was not happy when I pushed her hands into the icing of the cupcake. She pretty much had a melt down. It's her party and she'll cry if she wants to!

Today we went to the pediatrician and later went to the pulmonologist. The pulmonologist tested her and told us that she no longer needs to be on oxygen during the day! We are going to still have her sleep wearing her cannula. We are going to have a sleep study done to test her to make sure she does not have apnea, is exchanging gasses properly and is not having any unusual brain activity. Once we get the go ahead, we can take her off of the cannula both day and night. We are encountering unchartered, but very, very exciting territory. This is the day we have been waiting for and it is finally here!
