Amelia is doing great! She is now crawling confidently, she is pulling up on furniture to a stand, she is cruising along furniture and moving between pieces of furniture. She can get wherever she wants to go and needs to be more closely supervised. I don't think we ever thought this day would get here and we still haven't baby proofed our house. I caught her sucking on the end of an electrical cord the other day. She likes to pull on cords, so we are going to have to be more careful about her ability to access them. She has gotten a scratch on her nose and has bruises all over her legs from all her efforts. Our goal for her next is to start walking while I am holding one of her hands. I would love her to learn this over the next couple of weeks so we can hold one hand while she scoops up Easter eggs and puts them in her basket. Last year she did not care about eggs. Amelia's newest development that we are not fond of is that she does not want to go to bed in her bed, our bed or any bed. She is a party animal. We have been letting her cry herself to sleep the last couple nights. She cried for about ten minutes last night and she became quiet. Todd went to go check on her and she had pulled to a stand, rested her head on her boppy that hung over the end of her bed and was holding herself up with her hands on either side of her boppy on the end board. And she was asleep!
We have a big girl bed for her now upstairs in her bedroom. Today is the third day she has taken a nap in her own bed and so far so good. We eventually want her to be comfortable enough in the room that sleeping in there overnight without us will not be traumatic --- even fun and enjoyable for her.

These are some awesome pictures, folks. No one could have predicted that our little Amelia would take such giant steps in her development in the past two weeks. I knew she had it within her, and now that she is able to get around so well, nothing of yours is sacred.
She has the both of you figured out, so keep up the tough love and it should be over (the crying at bedtime) in less than a week. It really is nothing short of a miracle on how effective that is.
So glad to see that Asta doesn't mind having fun poked at him with the bunny ears. That and Amelia with the dolly cradle are my favorites. There is something about her sleeping position with daddy that reminds me of Addiecakes when she was a good bit younger.
